    Description

    1998-10
Population: Millennium in Maps – National Geographic Map Poster
A study of world population trends, what current population growth is like, and where we are potentially headed. The map-side is titled “Population and Resources” and contains a world satellite view at night showing both population centers and energy consumption. The “black holes” where there is little energy consumption is also addressed. There are two map insets, again showing the world's distribution of population density and the other the world's wealth. The reverse-side addresses the trends in our population growth: a world growing larger but less equal; smaller families; closer quarters; longer lives; and a world of migration.
