original , light weight, cotton construction, short sleeve shirt with a lay down collar. The shirt features a six button, vertical front closure plaquet and two pleated, patch, breast pockets with subtly scalloped button down flap

The tropical Luftwaffe shirt was introduced, along with other tropical clothing and equipment, in the late 1940s and was originally developed for wear by staff serving in North Africa. The design of the shirt was based on the standard continental shirt, but in a different color and material.
